Marine Care Qld are seeking a Spare Parts Interpreter / Chandlery Sales to support our growing business. While we have a focus on the Marine industry and experience in this area would be highly desirable, we are looking for someone with right knowledge and skills to make this job their own. You may have been or currently a Marine Mechanic looking to get off the tools or an automotive spare parts interpreter looking for a change. If you are that person who lives and breathes boating and fishing, love helping customers, this could be the job for you.

Mandatory Requirements of the position include the following: 

  • Demonstrated experience working in similar roles
  • Passion for boating and the water
  • Understanding of mechanics, motors and parts in general
  • Provide exceptional Customer Service to our clients
  • Great organisational and number skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent client & personal relationship and communication skills
  • Natural ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail
  • Be proactive, self-motivated and tenacious
  • Be resourceful and seek out solutions to problems

Desirable Requirements of the position include the following: 

  • Marine Spare Parts Interpreter – Outboards
  • Understanding of marine electronics
  • Understanding of trailers and accessories
  • Understanding of boating accessories and chandlery items
  • Understanding of marine industry and outboard motor parts

Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • Be first point of contact with clients to quickly access their spare parts needs
  • Provide a high level of professionalism and expertise to satisfy the needs of our clients for marine related spare parts and chandlery items.
  • Managing appropriate levels of inventory based on sales trends.
  • Perform regular stocktakes
  • Work closely with sales team to build pick list for boat rig ups.
  • Be able to manage the inventory levels and understand patterns of demand
  • Responsible for receiving service calls, emails and communications from clients and processing them promptly
  • Liaise with marine technicians and contractors to provide parts as required
  • Unpacking spare parts and chandlery deliveries, receipting of goods and stocking on storeroom.
  • Support the selling of marine electronics such as Marine Radio, Fish Finders and Plotters, Electric Motors, Electric Winches and related 12v marine accessories.

The remuneration package will be discussed with the successful applicant taking into consideration experience, skill set and expertise suited for the role.
