This unit porvides participants with the mandatory health and safety training requried in order to work safely and prevent injury or harm to self and others within the construction industry. This unit covers identifying and orally reporting common construction hazards, understanding basic risk control measures, and identifying procedures for responding to potential incidents and emergencies. It also teaches participants how to correctly select and fit common personal protective equipment (PPE) used for construction work. This unit of competency is commonly referred to as a White Card, and upon successful completion The Learning Collaborative will issue you with the White Card induction card.
