Your opportunity

 

As our Senior Adviser Safety & Governance, you will support the Service Manager Safety Governance & Psychosocial Health in the development and delivery of a contemporary Health, Safety & Wellbeing (HSW) management system. You will be responsible for the development, implementation, monitoring, analysis and enhancement of Council’s HSW management system and the associated software systems and programs.

 

Guided by our Values, you will also:

 

  • Lead the coordination and conducting of audits across Council to effectively monitor and measure the health of the HSW system and the effectiveness of implementation, including the integrity and effectiveness of online systems.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of the organisational-wide HSW Management System that is based on the risk profile of the organisation.
  • Provide high level advice to people leaders and workers on the processes and practices that increase HSW maturity and maintain a culture that is focused on continuous improvement.

Eligibility

 

  • You’ll hold a C Class Drivers Licence.
  • You’ll have comprehensive knowledge of the principles and legislation related to Work Health and Safety with minimum three to five (3 – 5) years’ experience in health and safety role within a large and complex organisation.
  • You’ll have a tertiary qualification in occupational health and safety (Diploma or Advanced Diploma) with relevant experience; or an equivalent level of expertise gained from a combination of experience, training, professional accreditation and qualification.
  • Successful applicants will be asked to consent to a police check. Please note that people with criminal records are not automatically barred from applying for this position. Each application will be considered on its merits.
  • To be eligible for employment, applicants must have the legal right to work in Australia.
